Question: What is the difference between the financial market and the stock market?

We have always learned that a financial market was synonymous with a stock market, except that reality seems to dictate other than this definition. Thus, and in order to be able to give a clear definition of a financial market within the framework of my end-of-studies dissertation dealing with IPOs, I refer to you hoping to find the answer.

Answer

Hello,
The financial market is the place where capital is exchanged, in the broad sense. It includes the stock market, bonds, currencies and certain commodities.
IPOs relate only to the stock market.
