How do some animals become resistant to cancer?
Animals such as elephants are hardly affected by carcinogenic processes despite their large number of cells. One possible explanation is that these pachyderms have between 7 and 11 types of leukemia-inhibiting genes, while the rest of the mammals have one. Although this is a more than convincing answer, transposing this knowledge to human medicine remains unknown.
