  • Have diabetes.
  • Have Crohn’s disease.
  • Eat a diet that is high in fat and cholesterol.
  • Take drugs that lower cholesterol.
  • Take various medicines including oral contraceptives.
  • Have certain blood disorders.
  • Are of Native American or Mexican descent.
